The GARDASIL cervical cancer vaccine is the only treatment that works to prevent all 4 types of the Human Papillomavirus or HPV. Out of these 4 types, 2 types are the leading cause of over 70 percent of all cervical cancer cases, and 2 types are the leading cause of over 90 percent of genital warts cases. GARDASIL is an appropriate choice for young women aged 9 to 26.GARDASIL should not be used by persons who are allergic to its ingredients, especially those with severe allergies to yeast. GARDASIL should also not be used by women who are pregnant. GARDASIL does not treat those with genital warts or cervical cancer.

It is important to note that GARDASIL may not be the correct choice for everyone as it does not prevent all types of cervical cancer and patients should continue their routine screenings for cervical cancer. Some of the side effects of GARDASIL including a headache, nausea, swelling, bruising, fever, itching, and redness around the injection site.

Cervical Cancer is most commonly related to the Human Papillomavirus or HPV. The HPV virus can be transmitted between sexual partners and also causes genital warts. If you notice any genital lesions, they should be diagnosed to be certain that it's not viral or in need of medical assistance. Genital warts can sometimes be self-misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs or razor bumps so many people ignore early indicators. The FDA has approved GARDASIL as the only vaccine for prevention and protection of the most dangerous types of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

GARDASIL is administered as 3 injections over a period of 6 months. Doses are administered every two months. It is important that all three doses must be administered for the GARDASIL vaccine to be completely effective.
